Calling for Directors for the Sustainable Development Goals

A message from the Youth Sustainability Development Conference (YSDC)

YSDC is a youth led platform which is targeted at educating teenagers about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and ensuring that they apply their critical thinking ability in coming up with workable solutions which would aid in the achievement of the Agenda 2030.

In line with the Education for Sustainable Development, students are shared into various committees in line with the SDGs, and then drilled on the particular goal of that committee. Using the Design Thinking Method, the students thereafter propose workable solutions and measures for the implementation in line with the Agenda 2030.

During the conference, participants take on the roles of diplomats and advocate and being assigned a committee which are formed by each goal of the sustainable development and they also give proposed solution to each goal they are assigned and measure to achieve the goals in line with the 2030 Agenda.

The first edition of YSDC took place on the 26th and 27 th of September 2019 at Igbobi College, Yaba,Lagos. The 2019 YSDC was themed “Youth Engagement Towards Achieving the SDGs.” It had over 100 participants in attendance.
